The ASDB Ranking

Our board ranks Colorado defensive backs by verified 2026 production. Allen's 194.40 production score (19.44 per game) comes from an approved stat submission covering 10 games. Only five players in the state score higher, and four of them are seniors.

Defensive Production: A Tackling Safety

Allen finished the regular season with 99 tackles in 10 games, 72 of them solo. That is 9.9 stops per game from a defensive back, with 6.0 tackles for loss and a sack mixed in. About 73 percent of his tackles were made alone, a sign he finishes plays in space without needing help.

His ball production on defense is lighter: 1 interception and 3 passes defended as a junior, after 2 interceptions, 3 passes defended and 2 fumble recoveries as a sophomore. Across three varsity seasons he has 4 interceptions and 6 passes defended.

ASDB read: the numbers profile a downhill safety who plays near the line of scrimmage. The tackle volume and TFL count point to strong run fits and a quick trigger. The next thing we want from his film is coverage: man-to-man reps from the slot and range from a two-high shell.

Two-Way Value: Receiver and Return Man

On offense Allen was the Colts' big-play threat: 62 catches for 996 yards (16.1 per catch) and 12 touchdowns, with a long of 90. He added 29 rushing yards, completed his only pass for a 10-yard touchdown, and returned 5 punts for 97 yards and a score. That adds up to 1,159 all-purpose yards and 13 total touchdowns in 10 games.

After the regular season he posted on X that he finished No. 2 in Colorado in receiving yards and No. 1 in his classification. ASDB has not independently verified that statewide ranking.

For a defensive back recruiter, the offensive tape matters. Ball skills, body control at the catch point and vision with the ball in his hands all carry over to the secondary and the return game.

"Everybody doubts us, but we like it that way." Israel Allen to KRDO, August 2026

The 2026 Season, Game by Game

Pueblo South went 6-4 in the regular season and opened the Class 3A playoffs with a 21-18 win at Berthoud on Nov. 6, a game Allen says he played as a team captain. The Colts face Palmer Ridge on Nov. 13.

ASDB Evaluation

Strengths

  • Tackle production: 99 tackles and 6 TFL from the secondary

  • Two-way playmaker: 996 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns

  • Return ability: 19.4 yards per punt return with a touchdown

  • Strength for his frame: 315 deadlift and 285 squat at 165 pounds

  • Year-over-year growth in every major category

  • Leadership: playoff captain, academic awards, three varsity sports

What we want to see next

  • A verified 40-yard dash and pro agility time

  • Coverage clips from the slot and in man-to-man

  • More takeaways on defense to match his offensive ball skills

  • Playoff stats added to MaxPreps

Projection

At 5'7", Allen projects at nickel, box safety, slot receiver or return specialist at the next level. His production, strength and grades fit FCS, Ivy League and Division II programs today, and a verified speed number that matches the film could bring Group of Five attention. ASDB grades him as one of the most productive two-way juniors in Colorado and a name every Rocky Mountain recruiter should have on the 2028 board.
