Athlete Strategy: How Often Should You Post on Social Media

Updated: Jun 19, 2020

What a great question to ask! You aren't the only one that wants or needs to know to be effective on social media. Some athletes or organizations are concerned that too much posting will annoy their fans and followers. Many aren't comfortable with posting multiple times a day because it feels a little arrogant and they do not like to brag. Before we go any further, we want to remind you that it doesn't matter what others think so post.

We will cover how often you should post on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Linked In.

ree

FACEBOOK: We can all agree that we sometimes ignore or don't engage with individuals and companies that over post. 1 or 2 post a day is recommended. I believe the best time to post is before 7 am and after 7 pm. Check your facebook insight to see when your audience is online.

TWITTER: The results varied a bit and from our research, many think you should post between 2 and 40 times a day. We suggest you tweet up to 12 times per day to stay relevant with your followers.

INSTAGRAM: Posting up to 3 times a day will work just fine. We have found that posting before 8 am or after 6:30 pm will make an impact.

LINKEDIN: No need to post a lot on this social platform. We suggest that you post relevant content once per business day. Again, we suggest posting in the mornings.

Other great social platforms for athletes and trainers include YouTube and SnapChat.

Now that you have more information, it is time for you to post. Choose your pace and stick with it.
