High school players who are looking to extend their sports career and compete at the college level usually have a great work ethic and a passion that sets them apart from others. Those players are driven and extremely motivated to train outside of the regular football season to get better physically, mentally, and technically. Senior from Riverdale Ridge High School in Colorado has done just that to prepare for his last season as a Raven.
Josh sets himself apart with his knowledge of the game. He is a very intelligent athlete playing cornerback position and you can see his ability to read plays and finish a play. The biggest obstacle he has to face with recruiting is his size. He plays the game at 5'10 which isn't bad for height, but his weight is only about 160 if I had to guess. Josh can do everything that the game requires and will do it at a high level.
Last season, after 11 games, he had a total of 27 tackles, 14 which were solo tackles and 3 pass breakups. This past summer, Josh prioritized building his speed by running track, lifting weights with the team and a private trainer, also working on flexibility.
Guinto excels as a zone corner but can also play man coverage really well. Josh is extremely comfortable on an island. He displays above average ball skills and tracking.
This is the season he needs to show how special he could be in the defensive secondary for Riverdale Ridge. Teammates love to play with him because of his commitment and passion for the game.
To sum up, Josh has demonstrated the discipline, leadership, and work ethic needed to thrive at the next level. I highly recommend him without reservation and believe he will be an asset to your program.
