Film Room Notes: Jerome Parks, Arapahoe DB, Class of 2028

Every week, I do my research on a prospect and break down film. This week the name on the board is Jerome Parks, a junior defensive back at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado. He list as free safety and cornerback on his Hudl profile and wears number 15 for the Warriors.

Here is what I know, what the numbers say, and what I still need to see on tape.

The Board

  • Name: Jerome Parks

  • School: Arapahoe High School Warriors, Centennial, CO

  • Class: 2028 (junior)

  • Positions: Free safety, cornerback

  • Height and weight: 6'0", 165 lbs, per the MaxPreps roster

  • Jersey: 15

His X bio, which is self-reported, lists 6'0" and 160 lbs, safety and DB, the 100m in track, and a 3.0 GPA. The bio does not give a 100m time.

Frame

Six feet gives Jerome options at both spots he lists. At 165 pounds, adding strength will be part of his development as he moves through his junior and senior seasons. When I see a DB with this frame, the first thing I want to know is how he tackles in space, and that is a film question.

Production

Through his first three games of 2026, Jerome recorded 24 tackles (17 solo) and 2 interceptions, good for 8.0 tackles per game. MaxPreps shows a national average of 3.0 tackles per game on its stat summary.

  • Aug 27 vs. Mountain Vista (L 39-43): 8 tackles, 6 solo, 1 INT

  • Sep 3 vs. Heritage (W 58-14): 5 tackles, 4 solo, 1 INT

  • Sep 10 vs. Ralston Valley (L 17-35): 11 tackles, 7 solo

A later snapshot of the Arapahoe team page lists Jerome as the team leader in tackles per game at 8.6, with stats entered through the October 15 game against Northfield.

Coach's note: a defensive back averaging more than eight tackles a game is around the football. Picking off a pass in each of his first two games tells me the ball finds him when it is in the air. The tape will show me how he gets there.

Team Context

Arapahoe plays Class 5A football in the Centennial League under head coach Tyler Brayton, a former Colorado defensive end and first-round NFL draft pick. Recent results:

  • Oct 2: L 0-42 at Cherry Creek (Produced many Division I recruits and State Champions for many years)

  • Oct 9: W 43-41 vs. Cherokee Trail (Has a few Division I recruit)

  • Oct 23: W 14-7 vs. Rangeview

Recruiting Status

As of October 24, 2026, I found no public star rating, ranking or scholarship offer for Jerome on 247Sports, On3, Rivals or NCSA. On October 16 he posted on X that he planned to be at Colorado Mesa to watch them play. Getting on campus and watching college football in person is a good habit for the 2028 prospect.

What I Need to See on Film

  • Press technique at corner

  • Verified testing: 40-yard dash, shuttle, and vertical

Coach Rod's Bottom Line

Jerome Parks is a Class of 2028 defensive back worth keeping on your board. He has a six-foot frame, the versatility to line up at safety or corner, and early junior-year production that puts him near the football. Film and verified testing numbers are the next pieces of his story, and I will be watching.
